Readers may be familiar with Costner’s love life and how it played out in 2023 (we’ve covered it extensively), but the long and short of it is that the Dances With Wolves star and Christine Baumgartner divorced last year after 19 years of marriage.
By all accounts it was Christine who had initiated divorce proceedings; Costner, by contrast, was reported to have been stunned by his ex-wife’s decision. An inevitable legal battle followed, culminating in Costner being ordered to pay Baumgartner $63,209 a month in child support.
That may sound a lot, but it’s a long way off the $161,592 Christine was apparently seeking.
A few months later Costner, 69, found himself the subject of a number of rumors linking him to various women. This is to be expected, I guess, since he became one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors the day his divorce was finalized.
It’s been speculated heavily in recent months that he’s now dating singer Jewel, with the pair having reportedly flown off on holiday with one another. Jewel herself even spoke about Kevin in an interview back in April, coyly saying of the actor: “He’s a great person.”
In the same interview she stated of the rumors linking the pair of them: “The public fascination is intense for sure.”
Whether or not Costner has found new love isn’t something the rest of the world is likely to know until an official statement is made, but Radar Online claim that the Yellowstone leading man has undergone a transformation since his break-up from Christine.
A source is said to have told news outlet The Globe: “He fusses over his hair nonstop and is now getting weaves,” while also adding that he is “dabbling in other beauty treatments like Botox and spray tans to look younger.”
The insider continued: “He used to be a wash-and-go guy, but now he spends hours getting ready and obsesses over his hair like crazy. His friends joke he’s looking like a scarecrow with the bleached fuzz on top of his head, but he doesn’t care, he thinks it looks great.”
Indeed, Costner flaunted bleached blond hair and a noticeably thicker hairline last month when he was spotted at Cannes Film Festival to debut the first film in his new four-part Western saga Horizon: An American Saga.
