Ricky was born on April 13, 1970, in Staten Island, New York. He started his acting career in the late 1970s with the film The Champ. This role earned him a Golden Globe award and opened the doors to him for more movies and projects.
Later, Ricky played in Silver Spoons, airing from 1982 to 1987. This was another role the young actor earned acclaim for.
Over the years, he was part of popular shows such as NYPD Blue, Scrubs, and Strong Medicine.
