Rosa explained how much the podcast meant to Shannen “because it allowed her to tell her story and tell her truth.”
“I wanna do this, and I have so many people that have followed me over the years and have supported me, and I just want to give them the opportunity to hear what my life really is,” she recalled her daughter saying.
“And that was part of the reason for this podcast,” Rosa said. “And it meant so much to me because I got to watch her do this when it was so special for her and needed. It helped her so much in everything that she was going through.”
When asked what her daughter’s legacy will be, Rosa replied, “Her legacy will be the love that she gave to everybody that she knew, and the love that she gave to people that she didn’t know.”
Shannen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and went into remission two years later. In 2020, the Charmed star announced the cancer had returned and it was stage four. In November 2023, she revealed the cancer had metastasized and spread to her brain and bones.
Shannen died on July 13, 2024.
