Readers will remember how Harry and Meghan sat down with Oprah Winfrey to fire all manner of accusations at the British royals after their move Stateside. Then came their candid Netflix series, followed by Harry’s memoir Spare, within the pages of which he doubled down on the fiercest of claims while actively making new ones.
The long and short of it is that there’s an ongoing rift between the Sussexes and the monarchy, and though Harry and Meghan once claimed to want to live a more private life, they still find themselves in the spotlight on an almost weekly basis.
The 2024 ESPY Awards, held earlier this month, proved as much, with both Harry and Meghan becoming talking points virtually just for showing up.
The annual American awards show was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on July 11, with Harry picking up the Pat Tillman Award for Service distinction for his work with the Invictus Games.
Yet it was Meghan who found herself drawing arguably the most attention, with many feeling the need to comment on her seemingly altered appearance.
No sooner had pictures emerged from the event, than did people take to the internet to claim that Meghan looked unusually skinny.
“She looks stressed… she skinny, bad PR [Public Relations]… bad pic,” one person wrote.
Another added: “Her arms are very thin! She should quit the Ozempic… I guess she needed to be invited to those ozempic parties her pals were throwing.”
A third said: “[Is] She sick? Why so skinny? Thought she and her meganuts loved her ‘thick.’”
A fourth opined: “Somebody is shooting ozempic.”
Others, it must be said, rushed to Meghan’s defense, arguing that she’s always been slender.
“Meghan looks fantastic,” wrote one fan.
“Megan is a thin woman who looks fantastic. Stop with the nonsense,” another said.
“Here we go, why are people ready to bash her,” said a third.
