We all know grandparents are amazing people who need to be treasured every day. They play many important roles in the lives of their beloved young children and depending on how far away they live and other circumstances, they can be caregivers, mentors, historians and playmates.
Trusted advisors for their adult children who are now parents themselves, grandparents have a profound effect on little ones, providing the love and emotional support that only they can offer.
According to some reports, “when grandparents are involved in their grandchildren’s daily lives, the children are more social and more involved in school. They are also more likely to show care and compassion for people outside their immediate circle of friends and family.”
The same article describes grandparents as “the National Guard,” who steps in and helps out whenever there’s a problem.
‘King of them all’
Offering evidence to that theory is one adorable little boy, who’s gushing over his grandmother, who he calls “MeMaw.”
Starring in the YouTube clip, that has millions of views since it was first shared in 2008, the cute little man has been melting hearts for several years.
Responding to the question, “Why did God create grandmothers?” the boy, a southern gentleman in training, starts, “Well…God made grandmothers to love and care about you, that’s all I know.”
Seen wearing a martial arts uniform, the expressive young child, who speaks earnestly, captured the heart of millions with his heartwarming reply.
“She’s 100 years old, I can’t believe that. And her name is MaMaw. She’s the king of all of them. If she wouldn’t be on this Earth, I wouldn’t be on this Earth.”
