Reba McEntire finally addresses rumors about her future on ‘The Voice’

Reba McEntire at the Super Bowl

As we know, there’s no bigger stage than belting out the anthem before the opening kickoff at the Super Bowl, and considering Chris Stapleton’s fantastic rendition last year, the expectations were sky-high for the legendary Oklahoma native.

The applause was thunderous once Reba concluded, setting a splendid tone for the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.

According to Taste of Country, 2024 was the fourth year in a row that the NFL booked a country singer to perform the national anthem.

A month ago, the 68-year-old Reba revealed some intriguing details about her performance. In an interview with CBS Mornings, the country star said that she accepted the invitation to sing the national anthem for a specific reason.

”I got the news from my manager…he said they wanted me to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, well, let me think about that,’” McEntire recalled. “And Rex Linn, my boyfriend, who is a huge football fan, he said, ‘Yes! She’ll do it! Absolutely!’”

Reba’s divisive “mob wife” look

Ahead of her Super Bowl performance, McEntire took to Instagram to post images of herself rocking an all-blue ensemble.

In a stunning photograph, she showcased herself draped in a powder blue fur coat by Pinto Ranch, paired with denim jeans from Dillard’s, and accessorized with knee-high royal blue boots by Old Gringo Boots, blending her country music roots with contemporary fashion flair.

The reaction to McEntire’s post was, for the most part, positive, with fans swiftly expressing their adoration in the comments section.

“Hello Queen! We see you and we are here for it!!” one follower commented, while another chimed in: “Looking like royalty!”

A third admirer added: “It’s giving western mob wife and I’m here for itttt!”

Even rapper T-Pain took notice, sharing the post on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “The whole club lookin at herrrrrrrrr [sic],” in reference to his line in the hit 2007 song ‘Low‘.

Despite the well-meaning comments, not everyone was impressed with McEntire’s style. In fact, one person wrote that the outfit was “not a good look.”

Though, McEntire has spoken about her fashion choices before, revealing in 2001 during a New York fashion show that her favorite fashion brand was Levi’s. “Growing up on a ranch, that was all I ever wore,” she later told Country Living in 2016.
