Kate Middleton’s life was in real danger during hospitalization, claims journalist

The hospitalization of Kate Middleton has understandably been a cause for concern for her many fans worldwide. Not only was the matter sudden and unexpected – despite Kensington Palace’s claim that it had been ‘planned’ – but information regarding what Kate was actually suffering from has been scarce.

Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to The London Clinic yesterday for planned abdominal surgery. The surgery was successful and it is expected she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter,” the statement from Kensington Palace on its social media pages.

“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.”

The statement continued: “Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share. The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”

Last week The Sun newspaper said that Prince William has been at Kate’s bedside every day since her operation, though her children haven’t yet been to see her. Instead, the kids are believed to have been at school as normal during their mom’s stay in hospital.

While it’s been widely reported that Kate is on the mend and will return home in the coming days (though she won’t be taking on official engagements until after Easter) there are other sources that speculate that the princess’ health issue was more serious than many realize.

Spanish newspaper Marca yesterday published an article backing the idea that Kate’s life was in jeopardy, claiming that new details were revealed in a recent episode of Fiesta, a show that reviews current social and political events at both the national and international levels.

On the subject of Kate’s hospitalization, a journalist serving as one of the show’s contributors said: “The truth, we will never know unless the recovery does not progress as it should, because they will have no choice.”

Presenter Emma Garcia then asked: “Among the information available… Is she okay right now? Is her life currently in danger?”

“Her life was in great danger,” the journalist added. “The concern at the Royal House was palpable. The postoperative process became complicated, and her life had to be saved.”

Meanwhile, People Magazine claimed days after word broke concerning Kate’s surgery that her illness/injury/malaise was non-cancerous. Whether or not the Palace would announce if it was – unless it was absolutely unavoidable – is another matter for consideration.

Kensington Palace this morning announced that Kate Middleton has been deemed fit enough to leave hospital and continue her recovery at home in Windsor. The princess is said to be “making good progress”.
