The Culkin family matriarch, Patricia Brentrup, has reportedly been battling health issues, according to a media publication.
After her son, Kieran Culkin, has been attending industry gatherings to earn significant awards—a few of which he acknowledged in his acceptance speeches—the news of Patricia’s condition has broken.
Kieran openly snubbed his dad, Kit Culkin, by bringing up his lack of paternal guidance while thanking his mom for giving him life and a childhood at this year’s Emmys. Patricia did an amazing job parenting seven children, one of them is Macaulay Culkin, according to the “Succession” star.
Patricia was unable to attend Macaulay’s star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame because of her health, according to Mart Cox, her husband. Mart revealed that “Patty was invited, and they wanted to fly her out, but she’s been having some hard times with her health.”
Mart continued by praising Kieran, who, according to him, has been accompanying and taking care of his mom while she has been to the doctor. “Oh, for sure, all the kids have been very helpful,” he added, providing further clarification.
Kieran Culkin and his brother Macaulay have shared details about Patricia Brentrup and their childhood in a 2018 podcast interview. Macaulay discussed visiting his mother and their Montana roots, acquiring their names, and their family life in New York. He joked about their parents’ decision to work in Hollywood.
Also that year, Kieran did an interview with a famous magazine where he spoke about the Culkin kids’ childhood jobs, which coincided with Macaulay’s podcast appearance. “Whenever a production needed a kid, they would ask, ‘What age and what gender?’” he revealed in his interview, describing his parents’ acquaintances who ran a little theater. There are seven of them over here.
Even Dakota Culkin, the late older sister who supposedly had no interest in performing, ended up in the entertainment industry, as stated in the interview, along with the rest of the Culkin children.
