Carrie Underwood just started her latest tour, the Denim & Rhinestones tour this past weekend. The singer did promotional events for her upcoming tour, one of which was an interview on Today.
The singer juggles her career as a musician along with being a mother of two. And now as her children grow older, she reveals they have a better idea of why their mother can be absent during sometimes of their lives.
She revealed that her 7-year-old son Isiah is becoming more aware of what his mother might do for a living. She revealed, he is “becoming more aware” of her fame!
“I feel like, Isaiah, who’s 7½, he’s becoming more aware that it’s not normal,” she said, talking about how her son is more aware that people know who his mother is.
“He’ll go to school and someone will be like, ‘I saw your mom on TV last night,’ ” she went on. “He’s just becoming more aware that his mom does something that’s not normal.”
The country music singer shares both her sons, Isiah and Jacob with her husband who is a retired hockey pro. Safe to say, the boys will soon realize that both their parents are public figures.
As she begins her tour, she is more aware than ever that she needs to spend as much time as she can with her boys.
She has it all planned out; the boys join her on tour when they don’t have school and her going back home on days when she is free.
“This tour, I’m going home a lot more than I ever have before,” she added. “If there’s a way to get me home, even if it’s just for the day.”
Being a working mother is no walk in the park, and being a mother with a high-stakes career that keeps you on the road is even tougher. Good on Carrie Underwood for trying to keep a balance!
